In a new wave of infections, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has reported a total of 11,125 new COVID19 infections in the country.
The number is slightly down from yesterday’s trend where a total of 16,366 new cases were identified. However, also worth noting that only 46,708 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours meanwhile a total of 68,703 tests were conducted in the previous testing period.
Meanwhile, only 1 COVID19 related death has been reported, bringing total fatalities to 89,966 to date.
Gauteng remains the most infected province with a total of 7,929 new cases identified.
